A joint venture rally with a procession was undertaken on 24th June 2024 by Police Station Shirva and St. Mary’s PU College along with the NSS unit of the PU College. To promote students for a good life and health all the students vowed and said “Say No To Drugs” .
Principal, staff members and NSS Officer coordinated this Rally marching from the main gateway of the college to main streets of Shirva.
Our Principal, Mr. Jayashankar warmly welcomed the gathering and lecturers coordinated the students for slogans.
Mr. Anil Kumar, Sub Inspector, Shirva Police Station addressed the students on the awareness on drug abuse. He raised awareness among students and told them to promote Anti Drug Activities within them and others.
Christmas is the festival which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. Christmas celebration was held on 23th December 2023. College Principal Mr Jayashankar K, Chief Guest Mrs Maria Jacintha Furtado, Mrs Juliana Dsouza and Mrs Shalini Lobo Co-ordinators AICUF, AICUF leaders were on the dais. AICUF members invoked prayers. Delon I Arts welcomed warmly. Melodious carols sung by the AICUF members. Chief guest Mrs Maria Jacintha Furtado by extending a beautiful message explained the spiritual meaning of Christmas to the students and pointed out the relevance of the teachings of Jesus Christ, in which Love, Joy, Forgiveness and Peace are core values to be practiced.
Principal Mr Jayashankar K bestowed greetings to AICUF members. Mrs Juliana AICUF Co-ordinator presented the prize list of various competitions.
Shanell II Science proposed vote of thanks. Emrica I Arts compered the programme. It was a joyous and amusing programme for everyone.

74th Annual day of St Mary’s PUC held on 8th December 2023, by garlanding the statue of our Institutional Founder Msngr. Hilary Gonsalves by the CPL and SPL of our college. College students invoked prayers. College flag was unfurled by the esteemed chief guest Mr Prabhakar Shetty.

Proficiency and Endowment prize list was presented by Vinisha of IIB, Sr Bridgith Madtha of high school and Mrs Sandhya Mendoca of primary school respectively. PUC sports champions and state achievers list was presented by Ananya Bhat of IIB. Chief guest and Correspondent awarded the prizes to the winners.
Mr Prabhakar Shetty the Chief Guest, Senior High school teacher of Vidyavardhaka PUC Mundkur addressed the students and gathering and called up on the students to inculcate values in students life to a bright future. College Correspondent V. Rev. Dr. Leslie Clifford Dsouza at his presidential bestowed wishes to lead the institution to peaks with good academic results.

Cultural program was presented by primary, highschool and college students.
In the evening college flag was lowered and present it to the Principal by CPL and SPL. With the National anthem the annual day program came to an end. Dikshith of IIB and Virginia of 10th std compered the program.
NSS unit of St Mary’s PU Shirva conducted ‘One day’ camp at MANASA SPECIAL SCHOOL Pamboor on 9/12/2023.
Program started by the invoking of prayers by members. Sr Ancilla Principal of Manasa Special School Pamboor welcomed all. NSS officer Mrs Maria Jacintha Furtado gave a introductory ‘Birds Eye view’ on ONE DAY CAMP of NSS-2023 and service to humanity.
Mr Jayashankar K bestowed greetings to NSS service. Sameeksha NSS leader presented the prize list of dance and singing. Chief guest Mr Santosh Cornelio the Trustee of Manasa congratulated the winners of dance and singing competitions undertaken by NSS to the student of Manasa. By extending a beautiful message of NSS unit, extended best wishes to Manasa Pamboor. NSS program officer handed over gift and monetary help to the President of Manasa centre.

In connection with our ‘college day’ 2023, The Department of History conducted exhibition on historical and traditional equipments.
At the dawn of the golden year celebration of PUC section and 75 years of High School for the students of history of PUC and high school 10th Std. Historical and Traditional things exhibition was launched.
Chief Guest Mr Norbert E. Machado the President of Alumni association of St Mary’s PUC inaugurated the exhibition and bestowed wishes. Principal Mr Jayshankar K was present.
Mrs Maria Jacintha Furtado Lecturer in History directed the exhibition. Mrs Sabina Priya Noronha High School Senior Teacher, Shirva Church Parish Council Vice President Mr Melwin Aranha, members of the management committee, Old students were present. History students welcomed with blowing of conches and Poorna kumba swagath done. Historical and traditional equipments, agricultural implements, Foreign and Indian stamps, day today equipments used at rural areas, age old means of measurements, relics, ancient writings, Inscriptions, images, metal items of brass, copper, iron including cast and clay materials, utensils were exhibited. Money boxes, basket, jewellery box, wooden toys, Pooja articles were attractive.

Extracurricular activities provide opportunities to students to express and explore themselves in areas depending upon their interest, skill and talents. Our college provides a platform to showcase the talents of students by conducting various competitions.
On 7th December 2023 our college organized Prize distribution day. Mr Melwyn Aranha, Vice President Parish Council Our Lady of Health Church Shirva had Presided the function. Dr. Jerald Pinto Director of MCC Bank, Mr Norbert Machado President St Mary’s Alumni Association were the Chief Guest. Our Principal Mr Jayashankar K, Mrs. Sabina Priya Noronha Senior Teacher High School Section, Mrs. Pauline Lobo Headmistress Don Bosco Higher Primary School were present on the dais.
The programme commenced with an invocation song by college students. Our Principal welcomed the gathering. Rollandia II Commerce introduced the chief guest to the gathering. Mrs. Sabina Priya Noronha, Senior Teacher High School Section proposed vote of thanks. Rivian Nazareth II Science compered the progamme.
On 21st and 22 nd November 2023 our college organized its Annual Sports Day. The day was filled with a lot of excitement, along with thrills, spirit, and cheers. The Correspondent V. Rev. Dr. Leslie Clifford Dsouza had Presided the function. Dr Gururaj K Dentist, Treasurer St Marys Alumni Association was the Chief Guest. Mrs. Sheetal Maria Dsouza, Branch Manager Udupi Catholic Credit Cooperative Society Shirva was the Guest of Honour. Mr Melwyn Aranha, Vice President Parish Council Our Lady of Health Church Shirva, Mr. Sudheer Jude Dsouza , President Parent teacher association, Our Principal Mr Jayashankar K, Mrs. Sabina Priya Noronha, Senior Teacher High School Section, Mrs. Pauline Lobo, Headmistress Don Bosco Higher Primary School were present on the dais.
A well coordinated march past by the student was feast to the eyes and ears. The programme commenced with an invocation song by college students.
Honorable chief guest Dr Gururaj K declared the sports meet open. Guest of honour, Old student of our esteemed institution Mrs Sheetal Maria Dsouza hoisted the college flag. This was followed by lighting kreeda jyothi by Mr Melwyn Aranha. The oath was taken by our CPL Pavan to abide the rules and regulations to participate in the sports with true spirit of sportsmanship.

Rev Fr Rolwyn Aranha The Principal Don Bosco English Medium School was the Chief Guest for closing ceremony. Yash Poojary and Chaithra emerged as Individual Champions. The service of teaching, non-teaching staff and volunteers was appreciated at this event. The Programme concluded with National Anthem.

The Traditional and Talents Day was celebrated on 9th November 2023 with great enthusiasm. The students came in their traditional dress. Their attire looked simply amazing as they collectively displayed an array of colors that reflected the diversity of India.
The event started with lighting lamp by our Principal Mr Jayashankar K. The students participated enthusiastically in the event. Students showcased their talents. They also showed their expertise at public speaking. The talents day indeed proved to be a wonderful platform for the students to discover their hidden talents.
Farewell function in honour of Mr. Valerian Noronha, Peon St. Mary’s PU College, Shirva on the eve of his superannuation on 31 October 2023 after completing 41 years of dedicated service. The farewell programme was organized on 04 November 2023. The correspondent V. Rev. Dr. Leslie Clifford Dsouza had Presided the function. Mr. Melwin Aranha Vice President, Parish Council Our Lady of Health Church, Shirva was present on the dais. The programme was started with a prayer by college lecturers. Mr. Jayashankar K. Principal welcomed all. Mr. Maxim Dsouza spoke about the journey of Mr Valerian Noronha in this institution.

On 1st November 2023 St. Mary’s High school and PUC section jointly celebrated ‘Kannada Rajyotsava’ programme holding an assembly at our College premises. The programme started with the prayer song by Class IX students. SPL Vinay V Achari gave a start to the assembly with orders. Janaki Class VIII welcomed all. Principal Jayashankar K., Mrs. Sabina Priya Noronha the Senior Teacher High School, all faculty members gave a floral tribute to the portrait of ‘Goddess Bhuvaneshwari’.
Student Representative Saakshi Class VIII spoke on importance of ‘Kannada Rayotsava’. Mrs. Shakila Lecturer in Kannada spoke on the Day’s importance. Bhoomika Class VIII proposed vote of thanks. Moksha compered the progamme. Students and Staff were present at this programme.
