Student Council Inauguration and Talents Day

Student Council Inauguration function was held in our college on 25th July 2024, Thursday in Saude Sabha Bhavan,Shirva.

Dr. Prathibha R, Thahasildhar, Kaup Taluk was the Chief Guest of the program. Our Correspondent, Very. Rev.Fr. Dr. Leslie C D’Souza was the president of the program.

Our Principal, Mr. Jayashankar K welcome the guests.

Chief Guest Dr. Prathibha R congratulated the Student Council representatives and she conveyed the message about the importance of student life. She explained how a person can become successful in life.

Very. Rev.Fr. Dr. Leslie C D’Souza in his Presidential speech explained about 3 T’s in life, i. e” Training”,” Teaching” and “Transformation”.

Mrs. Maria Jacintha Furtado proposed Vote of Thanks. Mrs. Priyanka Gomes had compered the program. The program was followed by the Talents Day Celebration for students.

NSS ACTIVITIES INAUGURATION-2024-25

NSS  members invoked Prayer.NSS Program Officer Mrs. Maria Jacintha Furtado welcomed all.

Guest and  Pilot Speaker Mr. Premnath, Lecturer of St. Mary’s College, Shirva was the one who presented variety of programs and activities to NSS unit. He said membership in NSS is a proud feeling ‘Service to Nation’.

Principal, Mr. Jayashankar K bestowed best wishes to NSS and appreciated the NSS camp 2023. Correspondent Very.Rev.Fr.Dr.Lesly  C D’Souza had  the presidential address and called upon NSS. Members to do service to the College and Nation to nurture qualities of leadership.

NSS leader and CPL of the college Prathvi was honored with a flower by  the guest.Principal gave a Momento of the Golden Jubilee Year to the resource guest. NSS  Asst. Leader Sannidhi proposed  Vote of Thanks. College lecturers and staff  members were  present in the function.

EXCELLENCE DAY AND PTA ORIENTATION PROGRAM

The program was held on 29th June 2024 Saturday in Saude Sabha Bhavan.

Mrs.Arpitha Shetty, Asst. Prof., Udupi Group of Educational Institutions, Manipal,

Mr. Melwyn Aranha,Vice President,Church Parish Council, Shirva,

Mr. Nobert Elias Machado, President, St.Mary’s Alumni Association, Shirva

were the chief guests of the program.

Very. Rev.Fr.Dr. Leslie C D’souza, Correspondent, St. Mary’s PU College, Shirva was the President of the function.

Principal Mr. Jayashankar welcomed the guests.

Mrs.Arpitha Shetty gave an orientation to the parents. She addressed how to be a responsible parent. She expressed through her life experiences.

In the Presidential speech, Very. Rev. Fr. Dr. Leslie C D’souza gave value based ideas to the students.

Mrs. Prabha Shenoy expressed the vote of thanks.

The program was followed by a Farewell Program to office staff Mrs. Apoline Renny Furtado.

Very. Rev. Fr. Dr. Leslie C D’souza prayed and blessed for good health.

ANTI DRUG DAY CELEBERATION

A joint venture rally with a procession was undertaken on 24th June 2024 by Police Station Shirva and St. Mary’s PU College along with the NSS unit of the PU College.  To promote students for a good life and health all the students vowed and said “Say No To Drugs” .

Principal, staff members and NSS Officer coordinated this Rally marching from the main gateway of the college to main streets of Shirva.

Our Principal, Mr. Jayashankar warmly welcomed the gathering and lecturers coordinated the students for slogans.

Mr. Anil Kumar, Sub Inspector, Shirva Police Station addressed the students on the awareness on drug abuse. He raised awareness among students and told them to promote Anti Drug Activities within them and others.

Christmas Celebration

Christmas is the festival which inspires the spirit of sharing and caring. Christmas celebration was held on 23th December 2023. College Principal Mr Jayashankar K, Chief Guest Mrs Maria Jacintha Furtado, Mrs Juliana Dsouza and Mrs Shalini Lobo Co-ordinators AICUF, AICUF leaders were on the dais. AICUF members invoked prayers.
Delon I Arts welcomed warmly. Melodious carols sung by the AICUF members. Chief guest Mrs Maria Jacintha Furtado by extending a beautiful message explained the spiritual meaning of Christmas to the students and pointed out the relevance of the teachings of Jesus Christ, in which Love, Joy, Forgiveness and Peace are core values to be practiced.

Principal Mr Jayashankar K bestowed greetings to AICUF members. Mrs Juliana AICUF Co-ordinator presented the prize list of various competitions.

Shanell II Science proposed vote of thanks. Emrica I Arts compered the programme. It was a joyous and amusing programme for everyone.

Mr Joseph Dsouza Physical Director sponsored cake to all students.

College Day 08/12/2023

74th Annual day of St Mary’s PUC held on 8th December 2023, by garlanding the statue of our Institutional Founder Msngr. Hilary Gonsalves by the CPL and SPL of our college. College students invoked prayers. College flag was unfurled by the esteemed chief guest Mr Prabhakar Shetty.

V. Rev. Dr. Leslie Clifford Dsouza the Correspondent, Chief guest Mr Prabhakar Shetty, College Principal Mr Jayashankar K, High school incharge Mrs Sabina Priya Noronha, Don Bosco higher primary Headmistress Mrs Pauline Lobo, CPL Pavan, SPL Vinay and primary SPL Rishan were on the dais.

College CPL Pavan welcomed warmly. PUC Principal Mr Jayshankar K presented the Annual report, High school senior teacher Mrs Sabina Priya Noronha, Don Bosco higher primary Headmistress Mrs Pauline Lobo presented Annual report. Akash introduced the chief guest Mr Prabhakar Shetty.

Proficiency and Endowment prize list was presented by Vinisha of IIB, Sr Bridgith Madtha of high school and Mrs Sandhya Mendoca of primary school respectively. PUC sports champions and state achievers list was presented by Ananya Bhat of IIB. Chief guest and Correspondent awarded the prizes to the winners.

Mr Prabhakar Shetty the Chief Guest, Senior High school teacher of Vidyavardhaka PUC Mundkur  addressed the students and gathering and called up on the students to inculcate values in students life to a bright future. College Correspondent V. Rev. Dr. Leslie Clifford Dsouza at his presidential bestowed wishes to lead the institution to peaks with good academic results.

College Principal presented a memento to the Chief guest Mr Prabhakar Shetty. High school section student Charithrya proposed vote of thanks.

Cultural program was presented by primary, highschool and college students.

In the evening college flag was lowered and present it to the Principal by CPL and SPL. With the National anthem the annual day program came to an end. Dikshith of IIB and Virginia of 10th std compered the program.

ONE DAY CAMP of NSS-2023

NSS unit of St Mary’s PU Shirva conducted ‘One day’ camp at MANASA SPECIAL SCHOOL Pamboor on 9/12/2023.

Program started by the invoking of prayers by members. Sr Ancilla Principal of Manasa Special School Pamboor welcomed all. NSS officer Mrs Maria Jacintha Furtado gave a introductory ‘Birds Eye view’ on ONE DAY CAMP of NSS-2023 and service to humanity.

Mr Jayashankar K bestowed greetings to NSS service. Sameeksha NSS leader presented the prize list of dance and singing. Chief guest Mr Santosh Cornelio the Trustee of Manasa congratulated the winners of dance and singing competitions undertaken by NSS to the student of Manasa. By extending a beautiful message of NSS unit, extended best wishes to Manasa Pamboor. NSS program officer handed over gift and monetary help to the President of Manasa centre.

Dr Edward lobo the founder President of the trust declared best wishes to NSS ‘Shramadhan’. Mr Edward Larson Dsouza NSS Assistant Camp Officer proposed vote of thanks.

Historical and Traditional Items Exhibition 07/12/2023

In connection with our ‘college day’ 2023, The Department of History conducted exhibition on historical and traditional equipments.

At the dawn of the golden year celebration of PUC section and 75 years of High School for the students of history of PUC and high school 10th Std. Historical and Traditional things exhibition was launched.

Chief Guest Mr Norbert E. Machado the President of Alumni association of St Mary’s PUC inaugurated the exhibition and bestowed wishes. Principal Mr Jayshankar K was present.

Mrs Maria Jacintha Furtado Lecturer in History directed the exhibition. Mrs Sabina Priya Noronha High School Senior Teacher, Shirva Church Parish Council Vice President Mr Melwin Aranha, members of the management committee, Old students were present. History students welcomed with blowing of conches and Poorna kumba swagath done. Historical and traditional equipments, agricultural implements, Foreign and Indian stamps, day today equipments used at rural areas, age old means of measurements, relics, ancient writings, Inscriptions, images, metal items of brass, copper, iron including cast and clay materials, utensils were exhibited. Money boxes, basket, jewellery box, wooden toys, Pooja articles were attractive.

Likitha of first PUC was the master of ceremony. Staff, parents, students of all institution of St. Mary’s and Don Bosco came to watch the exhibition on 7th and 8th December 2023

Prize distribution day

All of us do not have equal talents But all of us have an equal opportunity to develop our talents -Dr A. P. J. Abdul Kalam.

Extracurricular activities provide opportunities to students to express and explore themselves in areas depending upon their interest, skill and talents. Our college provides a platform to showcase the talents of students by conducting various competitions.

On 7th December 2023 our college organized Prize distribution day. Mr Melwyn Aranha, Vice President Parish Council Our Lady of Health Church Shirva had Presided the function. Dr. Jerald Pinto Director of MCC Bank, Mr Norbert Machado President St Mary’s Alumni Association were the Chief Guest. Our Principal Mr Jayashankar K, Mrs. Sabina Priya Noronha Senior Teacher High School Section, Mrs. Pauline Lobo Headmistress Don Bosco Higher Primary School were present on the dais.

The programme commenced with an invocation song by college students. Our Principal welcomed the gathering. Rollandia  II Commerce introduced the chief guest to the gathering. Mrs. Sabina Priya Noronha, Senior Teacher High School Section proposed vote of thanks. Rivian Nazareth II Science compered the progamme.

The Programme concluded with National Anthem.
